Once upon a time, there lived a landlord in a village. One day, the landlord fought with a Brahmin and killed him by accident. The landlord realised his mistakes and wanted forgiveness by participating in his cremation ritual, but the villagers refused. Instead, a Brahmin cursed him for his act of killing.

After that incident, the landlord approached a Guru who advised him to keep a fast on the Kamika Ekadashi to escape his sin. He also advised him to worship Lord Vishnu while keeping the fast.

That night, Lord Vishnu appeared in his dream and freed him from his mistake. Since then, people have started believing that following this ritual will not only stop them from negative thoughts but also relieve them from their past mistakes.
