Devshayani Ekadashi 2021: The Beginning of Lord Vishnu’s Yoga Nidra

In mythology and Hindu culture, Devshayani Ekadashi has a special significance for millions of Hindus living in different parts of the world. Ekadashi matters the most in the line of Hinduism. It falls twice a month: Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. Every year, there are 24 Ekadashis when you worship Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the world.  Devshayani Ekadashi comes in the Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. Devshayani Ekadashi 2021 will occur on July 20 this year, with the formation of two auspicious yogas. It is also famous as Vishnu-Shayani Ekadashi, Ashadhi Ekadashi, or Harishayani Ekadashi. Devshayani Ekadashi 2021 – Time and date

According to mythological beliefs, Devshayani Ekadashi is when Lord Vishnu goes to bed for the next four months. Lord Vishnu’s Yoga Nidra makes way for lord Shiva to take charge of the world. After four months, lord Vishnu will wake up and permit Manglik works. The day on which Lord Vishnu wakes up from Yoga Nidra is known as Devprabodhini Ekadashi. According to the Hindi Panchang, Devshayani Ekadashi 2021 is July 19 at 09:59 pm. It is Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi Tithi that ends on July 20 at 07:17 pm.

• Brahma Muhurta – 04:14 AM to 04:55 AM
• Amrit Kaal – 10:58 am to 12:27 pm
• Abhijit Muhurta –  12:00 PM to 12:55 PM
• Vijay Muhurta – 02:45 pm to 03:39 pm
• Twilight Muhurta – 07:05 pm to 07:29 pm

It is believed that people should go fast on this day. People who do not observe this fast are supposed to go to hell. A fast on this day pleases Lord Vishnu, who blesses people with happiness and prosperity.

Chaturmas – No Manglik works for four months

Chatumas means four months. It is the fixed period when Lord Vishnu rests for four months ceaselessly. Devshayani Ekadashi is the beginning of Chatumas. • Kartik (October 16 to November 15): From Ashwin Shukla Paksha Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Paksha Ekadashi
