On this day, Lord Krishna, one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu, lives near the Amla tree along with his wife, Radha. The king and his subjects observed the Amalaki ekadashi vrat, and Lord Vishnu blessed him, saving his life from hunters. Furthermore, once, King Chitrasena had lost his way in the forest while hunters surrounded him. He fell to the ground, frightened.

The hunters were surprised to see the divine light coming out of the king’s body, which destroyed them. However, when the king returned to his conscience, he found all the hunters dead. Hearing the voice declare that the Amalaki vrat had saved his life, he felt so surprised.

Story of King Chaitratha Of Vaidisha 

Another story is about King Chaitratha of Vaidisha, who used to worship the Amla tree near the river. He used to observe fast and perform all the rituals by which Goddess Laxmi was overjoyed, blessing him with immense wealth. Moreover, he also used to worship the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Parashurama.

Later, one hunter joined him in following the rituals and honouring Lord Vishnu while he was born as King Vasuratha in his next birth with the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
