Shani Jayanti Mythological Story

According to mythological stories, Sanghya, the first half-wife of the sun god, went to the forest to perform meditation at her father’s command. Before leaving, Mata Sanghya revealed the replica shadow and put it to service to the sun god.

The sun god did not realise that instead of Sanghya her shadow was serving him. In time, Saturn was born from the womb of Shadow. When Saturn was in the womb of Mother Chhaya, Mata Chhaya was absorbed in the hard devotion of Lord Mahadev, the god of the gods.

Due to hard devotion, Mata Chhaya could not pay attention to her health. This had an impact on the character of Saturn. Because of this, Saturn is black. Seeing Saturn, the Sun could not believe that Saturn was his son.

At that time, he insulted Mother Chhaya a lot. Frustrated by this, Shani Dev, like Mata Chhaya, performed hard devotion to Lord Shiva. Pleased with Shani’s tapasya, Lord Shiva granted him superiority among the nine planets.

Also gave Saturn the right to judge. For this, Saturn keeps an account of the actions of a particular person. They give auspicious rewards to those who do good deeds. On the other hand, He punishes those who do evil deeds.
