For the people observing the fast of Mauni Amavasya 2026 or Maun Vrat for the first time, the following rituals and rules would work wonders. Follow the simple rituals and steps to complete the Mauni Amavasya vrat successfully. 

  • The Mauni Amavasya 2026 rituals start with purifying the mind, body, and soul. On the day, take a bath in the Brahma Muhurat (03:30 AM-6:00 AM). Add a few drops of Ganga Jal while bathing. 
  • After purification, offer water to Surya Dev (the Lord Sun). While offering the water, you can chant some Lord Surya Mantra.
  • Now comes the most important ritual of Mauni Amavasya: taking the vow of silence. But first, meditate by remembering Lord Hari, aka Lord Vishnu. 
  • Next, the devotee must remain silent and meditate to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva until the fast is completed.
