Story of Mata Siddhidatri

According to Hindu mythology, the very first tale associated with Mata Siddhidatri is that once the entire universe was covered in a cloud of darkness, a little ray of light appeared. The ray of light soon grew larger.

After some time, it converted into a holy divine woman’s form. Later, the form of the holy divine woman came to be known as Mata Siddhidatri. This is how she came into existence, according to some holy texts.

The second story is about the birth of Tridev. It is said that Tridev—Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh—was born when Sidhhidatri Devi first appeared. Moreover, Siddidatri Devi was the reason with whose help Lord Mahesh attained his eight Siddhis.

Additionally, the name Ardhanareshwar of Lord Shiva is also associated with Siddhidatri Mata. It is said that Lord Shiva’s body was divided into two parts in Mata Siddhidatri’s favour.

Lastly, according to mythological stories, Goddess Siddhidatri was formed by 3 devas, each of whom contributed one of their qualities. This was done to rid the world of Mahishasura.

The devas were very troubled by Mahisasura, and one day they decided to end their misery. Thus, they created Goddess Siddhidatri. In the end, Goddess SiddhiDatri ultimately killed Mahisasura.
