Legends of Brahma Temple

The legend behind the place is related to Brahma and an evil spirit named Vajranash. Lord Brahma cast a mantra on the lotus flower to destroy the demon, believed to have spread evil in the region. After Kanistha killed the devil, three flower parts fell at different places called Kanistha Pushkar, Jyaistha, and Madhya. This temple is also believed to be a curse on Lord Brahma. According to this mythological story, Lord Brahma and Vishnu were given a task by Lord Shiva to find the foot and head of a Lingam. However, both grew tired and were unsuccessful. Lord Vishnu truthfully accepted his defeat, while Lord Brahma lied. When Lord Shiva learned about this, he cursed Lord Brahma that he would never be worshipped in any temple or so. Thus, there is only one temple of him, that too in Pushkar.
