The first house, i.e., the ‘Ascendant’, represents the self and physical aspects of the self. These include physical appearance, how our bodies may be built, temperaments, ego, health, etc. The major parts that hold significance in the 1st house are the head and the face. Therefore, it focuses on skin complexion, forehead, and brain features. According to astrologers, having a weak 1st house may cause problems like acne, headaches, and other facial issues both overtly visible and covertly present. The significance of the 2nd house in Vedic astrology is related to ‘Dhana’ or possessions like income, investments, and personal belongings. It is not only limited to visible material belongings but also consists of things like our voice. The energy of this house aligns with Taurus and the use of things we own to their best capacity lies in this house. Astrologers also believe that the 2nd house overlooks organs like the nose, tongue, eyes, etc. Venus rules over it.
3rd House: Significance of Houses in Vedic Astrology
The 3rd house in Vedic astrology rules the mental capabilities of a person and how well they can memorize things. It overlooks habits, interests, intelligence and communication. It consists of various aspects and forms of communication from writing and radio to television and telephones. All professions in such fields come under this house. The energy of this house aligns with Gemini and Mercury rules it. The body parts like limbs, collar bones and nervous system also make up the 3rd house. Moreover, a weak 3rd house is the usually the cause of problems like imbalance in the nervous system, fractures, body pains, etc.
4th House: Significance of Houses in Vedic Astrology
The fourth house in the Vedic astrology aligns with Cancer, and Moon rules this house. It rules matters of land, houses, real estate, and your roots. Moreover, it is also said to be important for your relationship with your mother. And, it is associated with the domestic joys in our lives and thus called ‘Bandhu Bhava’. Furthermore, it overlooks the breasts, stomach and other digestive organs. A weak 4th house may bring with it problems in lungs, breasts and the chest.

5th House: Significance of Houses in Vedic Astrology
The 5th house holds significance in Vedic astrology in aspects of creativity, pleasure, joy and romance. It overlooks our capability to be innovative and create. This house aligns with Leo and ruled by the Sun, this can also be the cause of good fortune. The 5th house rules over the upper back, pancreas and spine. It can cause problems in the heart, and spinal cord and other issues like acidity and diarrhoea.
Significance of the 6th House
This house is responsible for our daily routines and general health. While the 1st house rules the physical body, the 6th house overlooks the choices we make for our bodies. It is also called ‘Ari Bhava’ and corresponds to enemies, debts and stepping stones. This house aligns with Virgo and rules over body parts like the kidney, waist, navel, appendix, intestines, etc. Ailments like appendicitis, hernia and constipation are results of a weak 6th house. Mercury rules it.
