Staged by Taika Waititi, returning after Thor: Ragnarok, Thor: Love and Thunder are set to star Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, and Chris Pratt. However, it will be more to showcase the passing of the Thor mantle and Mjølnir to Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, allowing her to become Mighty Thor.

COULD THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER BE CHRIS HEMSWORTH’S FINAL SOLO MOVIE?

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe is setting through Phase 4 and welcoming new assets of characters to the frontline. This could supposedly be the last solo adventure for Thor and actor Chris Hemsworth.

The original six Avengers have all handed their respective mantles onto their predecessors: Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) handed the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), the Disney Plus show Hawkeye introduced Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) as Clint Barton’s (Jeremy Renner) successor, this fall we’ll see She-Hulk premiere to take over from Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), upcoming series Ironheart will introduce Riri Williams following Iron Man’s (Robert Downey Jr.) footsteps, and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is now carrying the torch for Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson).

Lastly, Thor’s mantle is being passed to Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) for her to become the comic-book accurate Mighty Thor.

It is thought that Hemsworth’s Thor will be known as “Odinson” after Thor: Love and Thunder. However, mighty Thor will likely steal the spotlight in the future with Hemsworth’s character making appearances as a supporting character.
