Formula: (Completed Year+1)÷12= Remainder will be Muntha House

• The first step is to take your completed years of age (full years), eg 25 years. 
• Then, add 1 to your completed age and then divide the total by 12. 
• The number you get in the remainder is the house number where the Muntha will be seated in your horoscope. 

Example of House-Wise Muntha Calculation 

Suppose an individual is currently 33 years of age and wants to calculate the Muntha in astrology chart. 

 (Completed Year+1)÷12= Remainder will be Muntha House

(33+1)÷12= 10 (Remainder)

So, Muntha is placed in the 10th house. 

Rule 2: Rashi-Wise Muntha Calculation  

In this method, you need to know your lagna (ascendant) to calculate the muntha. 

Formula: (Completed Years + Sign Number of Ascendant)÷12= Remainder will be Muntha House 

• First, note your natal lagna sign’s number (Aries=1, Taurus=2, Gemini=3 and so on).
• Add your completed years of age to that sign number. Then divide the number obtained by 12. 
• At last, the remainder you get will be the Rashi (moon sign) where Muntha will be. 

Example of Rashi-Wise Muntha Calculation 

Suppose an individual is 25 years of age and his ascendant is Aquarius. 

(Completed Years + Sign Number of Ascendant)÷12= Remainder 

(25+11)÷12=3

So, the Muntha is placed in the 3rd house. 

Note: As per the astrologers, both House-wise and Rashi-wise methods give the same results. Also, if the remainder is 0, then the rashi will be considered as the 12th house.
