Story of Vrinda and Lord Vishnu

However, it was believed that this curse could only be lifted if Lord Vishnu married Tulsi. Tulsi was said to be an incarnation of Vrinda itself. Thus, Lord Vishnu married Tulsi.

In the Hindu calendar, Tulsi Vivah is celebrated during the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month on Ekadashi, the date of Mata Tulsi and Lord Vishnu’s union in the form of Shaligram. Hence according to the faithful and faithful devotees, fasting on this day with dedication and rituals destroys all the sins committed by the devotee in this birth and the previous life and attains the truth.
