Story and Importance Of Ram Sita Vivah
Vivah Panchami has a beautiful story surrounding it. Once, Sage Vishwamitra approached King Dasharath to let Shree Ram guard his Yagna. Dasharath accepted his request and allowed Lord Ram to go with sage Vishwamitra. After completing the yagna, they were about to leave for Mithila. At the time, the ruler of Janakpur organized a swamvyar for his princess Sita. The task of the Swamvyar was to lift a bow (Shiva Dhanusha) that was laid on the ground. A lot of participants tried to lift it but failed.
Finally, Lord Ram was asked to do it, and he successfully lifted and broke the Dhanusha into two parts. Seeing this, the king of Janakpur happily got Maa Sita married to Lord Ram. Lord Ram, who is called Maryada Purushottam, and Maa Sita, who represent strength and purity, are honoured as a couple symbolizing love, respect, purity, and commitment.
