दोहा (Doha)
श्रीगुरु चरन सरोज रज निज मनु मुकुरु सुधारि |
बरनउँ रघुबर बिमल जसु जो दायकु फल चारि ||
अर्थ – श्री गुरु के चरण कमल के धूल से अपने मन रुपी दर्पण को निर्मल करके प्रभु श्रीराम के गुणों का वर्णन करता हूँ जो चारों प्रकार के फल (धर्म, अर्थ, काम और मोक्ष) देने वाला है।
बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके सुमिरौं पवन-कुमार |
बल बुधि बिद्या देहु मोहिं हरहु कलेस बिकार ||
अर्थ – हे पवन कुमार, मुझे बुद्धिहीन जानकार सुनिए और बल, बुद्धि, विद्या दीजिये और मेरे क्लेश और विकार हर लीजिये।
चौपाई (Chaupai)
जय हनुमान ज्ञान गुन सागर |
जय कपीस तिहुँ लोक उजागर ||
अर्थ – ज्ञान गुण के सागर हनुमान जी की जय। तीनों लोकों को अपनी कीर्ति से प्रकाशित करने वाले कपीश की जय।
राम दूत अतुलित बल धामा |
अंजनि-पुत्र पवनसुत नामा ||
अर्थ – हे अतुलित बल के धाम रामदूत हनुमान आप अंजनिपुत्र और पवनसुत के नाम से संसार में जाने जाते हैं।
महाबीर बिक्रम बजरंगी |
कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी ||
अर्थ – हे महावीर आप वज्र के समान अंगों वाले हैं और अपने भक्तों की कुमति दूर करके उन्हें सुमति प्रदान करते हैं।
कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा |
कानन कुण्डल कुँचित केसा ||
अर्थ – आपके स्वर्ण के सामान कांतिवान शरीर पर सुन्दर वस्त्र सुशोभित हो रही है। आपके कानो में कुण्डल और बाल घुंघराले हैं।
हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै |
काँधे मूँज जनेउ साजै ||
अर्थ – आपने अपने हाथों में वज्र के समान कठोर गदा और ध्वजा धारण किया है। कंधे पर मुंज और जनेऊ भी धारण किया हुआ है।
संकर सुवन केसरी नंदन |
तेज प्रताप महा जग वंदन ||
अर्थ – आप भगवान शंकर के अवतार और केसरीनन्दन हैं। आप परम तेजस्वी और जगत में वंदनीय हैं।
बिद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर |
राम काज करिबे को आतुर ||
अर्थ – आप विद्यावान, गुनी और अत्यंत चतुर हैं और प्रभु श्रीराम की सेवा में सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं।
प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया |
राम लखन सीता मन बसिया ||
अर्थ – आप प्रभु श्रीराम की कथा सुनने के लिए सदा लालायित रहते हैं। राम लक्ष्मण और सीता सदा आपके ह्रदय में विराजते हैं।
सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा |
बिकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा ||
अर्थ – आपने अति लघु रूप धारण करके सीता माता को दर्शन दिया और विकराल रूप धारण करके लंका को जलाया।
भीम रूप धरि असुर सँहारे |
रामचन्द्र के काज सँवारे ||
अर्थ – आपने विशाल रूप धारण करके असुरों का संहार किया और श्रीराम के कार्य को पूर्ण किया।
लाय सजीवन लखन जियाये |
श्री रघुबीर हरषि उर लाये ||
अर्थ – आपने संजीवनी बूटी लाकर लक्ष्मण के प्राणो की रक्षा की। इस कार्य से प्रसन्न होकर प्रभु श्रीराम ने आपको ह्रदय से लगाया।
रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बड़ाई |
तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई ||
अर्थ – भगवान श्रीराम ने आपकी बहुत प्रसंशा की और कहा कि हे हनुमान तुम मुझे भरत के समान ही अत्यंत प्रिय हो।
सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं |
अस कहि श्रीपति कण्ठ लगावैं ||
अर्थ – हजार मुख वाले शेषनाग तुम्हारे यश का गान करें ऐसा कहकर श्रीराम ने आपको गले लगाया।
सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा |
नारद सारद सहित अहीसा ||
जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते |
कबि कोबिद कहि सके कहाँ ते ||
अर्थ – हे हनुमान जी आपके यशों का गान तो सनकादिक ऋषि, ब्रह्मा और अन्य मुनि गण, नारद, सरस्वती के साथ शेषनाग, यमराज , कुबेर और समस्त दिक्पाल भी करने में असमर्थ हैं तो फिर विद्वान कवियों का तो कहना ही क्या।
तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा |
राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा ||
अर्थ – आपने सुग्रीव पर उपकार किया और उन्हें राम से मिलाया और राजपद प्राप्त कराया।
तुम्हरो मंत्र बिभीषन माना |
लंकेस्वर भए सब जग जाना ||
अर्थ – आपके सलाह को मानकर विभीषण लंकेश्वर हुए ये सारा संसार जानता है।
जुग सहस्र जोजन पर भानू |
लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू ||
अर्थ – हे हनुमान जी आपने बाल्यावस्था में ही हजारों योजन दूर स्थित सूर्य को मीठा फल जानकर खा लिया था।
प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं |
जलधि लाँघि गये अचरज नाहीं ||
अर्थ – आपने भगवान राम की अंगूठी अपने मुख में रखकर विशाल समुद्र को लाँघ गए थे तो इसमें कोई आश्चर्य नहीं।
दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते |
सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते ||
अर्थ – संसार में जितने भी दुर्गम कार्य हैं वे आपकी कृपा से सरल हो जाते हैं।
राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे |
होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे ||
अर्थ – भगवान राम के द्वारपाल आप ही हैं आपकी आज्ञा के बिना उनके दरबार में प्रवेश नहीं मिलता।
सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना |
तुम रच्छक काहू को डर ना ||
अर्थ – आपकी शरण में आए हुए को सब सुख मिल जाते हैं। आप जिसके रक्षक हैं उसे किसी का डर नहीं।
आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै |
तीनों लोक हाँक तें काँपै ||
अर्थ – हे महावीर, अपने तेज के बल को स्वयं आप ही संभाल सकते हैं। आपकी एक हुंकार से तीनो लोक कांपते हैं।
भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै |
महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै ||
अर्थ – आपका नाम मात्र लेने से भूत पिशाच भाग जाते हैं और नजदीक नहीं आते।
नासै रोग हरे सब पीरा |
जपत निरन्तर हनुमत बीरा ||
अर्थ – हनुमान जी के नाम का निरंतर जप करने से सभी प्रकार के रोग और पीड़ा नष्ट हो जाते हैं।
संकट तें हनुमान छुड़ावै |
मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै ||
अर्थ – जो भी मन क्रम और वचन से हनुमान जी का ध्यान करता है वो संकटों से बच जाता है।
सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा |
तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा ||
अर्थ – जो राम स्वयं भगवान हैं उनके भी समस्त कार्यों का संपादन आपके ही द्वारा किया गया।
और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै |
सोई अमित जीवन फल पावै ||
अर्थ – हे हनुमान जी आप भक्तों के सब प्रकार के मनोरथ पूर्ण करते हैं।
चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा |
है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा ||
अर्थ – हे हनुमान जी, आपके नाम का प्रताप चारो युगों (सतयुग, त्रेता , द्वापर और कलियुग ) में है।
साधु सन्त के तुम रखवारे |
असुर निकन्दन राम दुलारे ||
अर्थ – आप साधु संतों के रखवाले, असुरों का संहार करने वाले और प्रभु श्रीराम के अत्यंत प्रिय हैं।
अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता |
अस बर दीन जानकी माता ||
अर्थ – आप आठों प्रकार के सिद्धि और नौ निधियों के प्रदाता हैं और ये वरदान आपको जानकी माता ने दिया है।
राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा |
सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा ||
अर्थ – आप अनंत काल से प्रभु श्रीराम के भक्त हैं और राम नाम की औषधि सदैव आपके पास रहती है।
तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै |
जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै ||
अर्थ – आपकी भक्ति से जन्म जन्मांतर के दुखों से मुक्ति देने वाली प्रभु श्रीराम की कृपा प्राप्त होती है।
अन्तकाल रघुबर पुर जाई |
जहाँ जन्म हरि-भक्त कहाई ||
अर्थ – वो अंत समय में मृत्यु के बाद भगवान के लोक में जाता है और जन्म लेने पर हरि भक्त बनता है।
और देवता चित्त न धरई |
हनुमत सेइ सर्ब सुख करई ||
अर्थ – किसी और देवता की पूजा न करते हुए भी सिर्फ आपकी कृपा से ही सभी प्रकार के फलों की प्राप्ति हो जाती है।
संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा |
जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा ||
अर्थ – जो भी व्यक्ति हनुमान जी का ध्यान करता है उसके सब प्रकार के संकट और पीड़ा मिट जाते हैं।
जय जय जय हनुमान गोसाईं |
कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाईं ||
अर्थ – हे हनुमान गोसाईं आपकी जय हो। आप मुझ पर गुरुदेव के समान कृपा करें।
जो सत बार पाठ कर कोई |
छूटहि बन्दि महा सुख होई ||
अर्थ – जो इस हनुमान चालीसा का सौ बार पाठ करता है उसके सारे कष्ट दूर हो जाते हैं और उसे महान सुख की प्राप्ति होती है।
जो यह पढ़ै हनुमान चालीसा |
होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा ||
अर्थ – जो इस हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करता है उसे निश्चित ही सिद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है, इसके साक्षी स्वयं भगवान शिव हैं।
