Once, Maa Parvati playfully closed Lord Shiva’s eyes, darkening the entire universe. From this darkness, a drop of Shiva\u2019s sweat fell on the ground. From this, Andhaka, the demon, was born. King Hiranyaksha raised him. The demon performed penance to please Lord Brahma. His penance pleased Brahma, and he asked Brahma for immense immunity from death unless he got a woman who would be like a mother to him. Listening to this, Lord Brahma granted him the boon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Fight Between Lord Shiva And Demon<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\r\n

The boon made Andhaka arrogant, and he stepped into Mount Kailash. Entering Kailash, Goddess Parvati’s beauty surprised him. He decided to possess her without knowing her true identity. He should have remembered about the condition of his boon. The demon started a fight with Lord Shiva with a vast army.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The blood that fell on the ground gave birth to a new demon. Shiva summoned Maa Kali and Matrikas. The Matrikas and Goddess Kali drank each drop of his blood, weakening Andhaka. Lord Shiva made him realise his evil deeds and imparted his divine knowledge. He purified the demon\u2019s soul, which turned him into a heavenly being.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

2. Matrika Chakra: Matrikas and Goddess Chamunda<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Goddess Chamunda and Ambika used the help of Matrikas to kill Raktavija, whose blood fell on the ground, giving birth to new demons. They drank each drop of blood. Fortunately, this made the demon weak, and he was killed. People worship Matrikas in many parts of India, especially in the southern part.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
