Tithi (The Lunar Day): <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It refers to the status and position of the Moon in Shukla Paksha or Krishna Paksha. In either case, Tithi is after the condition of the Moon. So, it compensates for one principal reason: 14 tithi’s in the two cycles among Amavasya and Purnima.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yoga literally translates to addition or sum. It is the sum of the Sun and Moon Positions in the Zodiac. There are 27 Yogas. One Yoga is 13 degrees 20 minutes. So, the sum total of all Yogas is 360. All Yogas have their distinct characteristics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Purnima and Amavasya in Panchang<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Purnima is the full moon day. It symbolises birth or rebirth. On Purnima, the moon completes a whole cycle. It is an auspicious day for many religious rituals like specific worship and marriages. Performing other professional and personal events is also done on this day. In addition, it is a lucky day. You will feel very energetic on this day. It is an important day to worship and follow your prayers to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amavasya is the new moon day. So, it is an inauspicious day and Manglik for marriage, griha Pravesh, etc. It is a powerful day. The Sun and Moon are in the same direction on Amavasya. Lord Shiva is worshipped on this day. Furthermore, the practice of remembrance and rituals of forefathers is conducted on Amavasya. It is a good day for havan or shraddha.<\/span><\/p>\n
