Apart from his role as the supporter of the universe, Sheshnaag exhibits his wisdom and knowledge. He possesses the divine knowledge of the Vedas. He is a symbol of enlightenment and self-realisation.
Sheshnaag had requested Brahma: “O Father of the world! I only wish that my mind is always used for the pursuit of goodness, spirituality, and peace.’
In some versions of the story of Sheshnaag, it is a belief that Sheshnaag took birth as Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Rama, in the epic Ramayana.
